3-Day Private Desert Tour to Merzouga
Embark on a three-day journey through the enchanting landscapes of the Moroccan desert. Starting from your hotel in Marrakech, your driver will guide you through the stunning Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260 m), offering breathtaking views of the majestic mountain range. Along the way, you'll stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Benhaddou, a renowned fortress and a highlight of southern Morocco.
Day 1: Marrakech, Tizi n’Tichka, Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, Dades Gorges
Depart early from your riad or hotel in Marrakech and head towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the impressive Tizi n'Tichka pass. You will visit the historical kasbah of Aït Benhaddou before continuing your journey to Ouarzazate. After a stop to visit the Taourirt Kasbah, you’ll travel along the scenic Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the Rose Valley. Arrive at the stunning Dades Gorges, where you will spend the night in a charming riad, enjoying dinner in a half-board setting.
Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, your journey continues to the Todra Gorges, famous for their dramatic rock formations. You will then pass through the palm groves of Tineghir before heading towards the town of Erfoud, known for its fossil production. Upon reaching Merzouga, you’ll embark on a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, witnessing a breathtaking sunset. Your night will be spent in a nomadic desert camp, where you can enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars, accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of Berber drums around the campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Start your day with a spectacular sunrise over the dunes, followed by a traditional breakfast. Return by camel to Merzouga and set off for Marrakech, passing through the High Atlas Mountains and charming Berber villages along the way. You’ll arrive in Marrakech in the evening, marking the end of your unforgettable desert adventure.
